Welcome to Wahoos!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Wahoos! We’re so excited for the summer ahead.

My name is Lorelai Hawkins, and I’ll be one of the head coaches this season. I’m a sophomore at Syracuse University, and this will be my 14th season as a Wahoo, 4th season coaching, and 4th summer teaching swim lessons at Willow.

I’ll be coaching alongside Grant Dionne, Madeline Trowbridge, Jace De Los Santos, and Reagan Brown. Reagan and I will primarily work with our younger swimmers (ages 5–10), and I’ll also oversee swim lessons.

For families of 5- and 6-year-olds: swimmers should be able to swim across the pool unassisted to participate. We’re here to support every swimmer, but by May 15th (end of week two), swimmers who are not yet able to swim independently may be transitioned to group lessons. They’ll be welcomed back to the team as soon as they’re ready.

If you have questions about placement or anything else, please email [email protected] with a quick note about your swimmer, and one of our coaches will be happy to respond.

We can't wait to see everyone in the water!

Practice Times:

  • 6U → 4:30-5pm
  • 7/8 → 5-6pm
  • 9/10 → 6-7pm
  • 11/12 → 7-8pm
  • 13+ → 8-9pm

Additionally, each year we ask families to donate drinks for us to sell at concessions as a fundraiser. We ask for one case/12-pack per swimmer of either name-brand soda, water, 12 oz Gatorade, or sparkling water. You can drop them off on or under the white table at the pool entrance. This is a one-time donation, not one for each meet, unless you can give more. We thank you for all your generosity!

Go Wahoos!

Lorelai
