Parents: Please be sure to share all meet information with any guests or extended family members who will be responsible for your child during the meet. Let’s represent the Willow Wahoos with pride by kindly and respectfully follow all facility protocols. We understand that spectating is a little more challenging than at the Willow pool, and we appreciate your patience.

Bellaire Town Square Family Aquatic Center: 7001 5th St, Bellaire, TX 77401. This is a 6 lane, 25-yard, outdoor pool. Times will be faster because the pool is shorter. Diving is not allowed in the shallow end of the pool.

7/8 and 9/10 only:  There will be stroke judges at this meet

• 4:30  - Check in (see picture below for Willow's tent location)
• 5:00 - 5:15 - Warm up (Willow warms up together in all lanes)
• 5:30 - 8:30 - Meet (Willow staffs lanes 5 & 6)

Bellaire hosts ALL teams for this Prelim. 

• Each team has a designated location around the pool so please avoid setting up chairs in a team's location. See picture below.

PRELIM NOTES

New: Swimmers must qualify to swim butterfly and breaststroke in Prelims. This will reduce the number of DQs during prelims. Previously, 50% of 7/8s and 9/10s get disqualified in breast and butterfly during Preliminaries. It is all about form not speed at this age.

• Swimmers may compete in 3 strokes. There are no relays. Relay teams for Finals will be picked by Coach.
• There are no ribbons since Prelims are about individual times across all heats.
• You must have participated in at least one dual meet in order to participate in Prelims.
• Please do not participate in Prelims if you are not able to attend Finals.
• Each lane will have 3 timers to ensure the most accurate time.
• Disqualification only occurs during Prelims and Finals. If a swimmer makes any error during a swim (see attachment for details), they will be disqualified.
• After each event, the results will be posted in a common area so swimmers will immediately know who advanced to Finals.
• Practices will continue through Prelims and Finals.

QUALIFY FOR FINALS

• 12 & Unders - The top 12 times plus 2 alternates for each event
• 13 & Aboves - The top 6 times plus 2 alternates for each event

DISQUALIFICATION

When results are posted, you may see a DQ next to your child’s name. This means they have been disqualified and cannot compete in Finals. If a swimmer does not correctly swim a stroke (wrong kick for stroke, single hand touch for butterfly/ breast, etc…) your child will be disqualified.

• Street Parking in the neighborhood - Ensure that all parking rules are followed when parking on the street, as police will ticket!

WEATHER

If the weather does not cooperate, the meet will be rescheduled to the next available date.

FOOD

Bellaire will have Chick-Fil-A, popsicles and snow cones.
