Next Week: Time Trials, Mock Meet, and More
Howdy Wahoos,
I have a few reminders and updates for everyone as we head into next week.
NO Practice on Memorial Day
Enjoy the day off! We'll see everyone on Tuesday!
11&Up Time Trials
We are holding time trials for the 11+ age groups on Tuesday, May 27th and Thursday, May 29th during practice. Swimmers will do a 50 of each stroke: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. We will use these times to help us prepare for the Bellaire dual meet on June 5th.
It is recommended to make it to at least one of these days if possible. If unable, we will time your swimmer when they are able to make it to practice.
Mock Meet
We will hold our Mock Meet on Saturday, May 31st at 8 AM. Check in begins at 7:30. All swimmers ages 5-10 are invited to come to this meet. We will do freestyle and backstroke for 5 and 6 year olds. 7-10 year olds will do all four strokes.
The Mock Meet is held so your swimmers can practice being in a swim meet and get used to the environment before their first Dual Meet. It also allows us to get initial times for all of our swimmers. We encourage all families who can make it to come!
The volunteer job sign-up and swimmer RSVP will open very soon. Keep an eye out for an email from our volunteer board.
T-Shirt Pickup at Mock Meet
Team shirts will be available for pick up at the front deck picnic tables during the Mock Meet. We’re excited to see everyone in their Wahoo shirts!
Drink Donations
Each year we ask families to donate drinks for us to sell at concessions as a fundraiser. We ask for one case/12-pack per swimmer of either name-brand soda, water, 12 oz Gatorade, or sparkling water. You can drop them off on or under the white table at the pool entrance. This is a one-time donation, not one for each meet, unless you can give more. We thank you for all your generosity!
Parent/Volunteer Meeting
Stay tuned for more info coming shortly about a parent meeting to learn more about our different volunteer opportunities. As a reminder, families are required to do one volunteer shift per swimmer on the team (ex. 2 swimmers = 2 volunteer shifts).
Have a great weekend!
