6 and Under practice time change and reminders
Good Evening Wahoos,
Due to low numbers in our 6/U Group A we will be extending practice time for Group B. 6/U practice will be from 7:15 to 7:55am. All other group times will stay the same!
Please see the email below sent out at the beginning of Session 1, for reminders of our policies and procedures:
I wanted to reach out and send an email informing you about some of the precautions we are taking during Quarateam this year.
Entering/Exiting
Swimmers and parents will enter through our regular entrance gate. Once practice is over please meet your swimmer at the diving boards in order to exit through the back gate area. This will help with allowing the next group of swimmers in and allow social distancing. Older swimmers who come in by themselves, we will ask them to place their belongings on the picnic tables on the back volleyball court area, so that they are able to pick up their belongings and exit through the back gate as well. Parents are also expected to exit through the back gate too.
Bathroom Policies
To limit bathroom usage, we are asking that no swimmer shower and/or dress in the bathroom area. We also ask that only one person use the bathroom at a time, to ensure social distancing.
Baby Pool
Siblings 4 and under are allowed to use the baby pool, but we ask that parents ensure that they, and their child are social distancing from others.
Practice
Swimmers will social distance outside of the pool and be assigned a lane and cone assignment for the session. They will also be assigned a coach who will help them throughout the session, as well as dismiss them at the end of each practice. My assistant coach, Ines, and I will be ensuring that swimmers are in their correct lane and are social distancing from other swimmers at all times. We will also help to guide your swimmer to the correct cone if they are lost or confused.
Lane and Cone Assignments
At the beginning of each session your swimmer will be assigned a lane and cone assignment. They will also have the same coach throughout the session to help them remember their spot. This will also be documented in case your swimmer forgets their spot.
Parent Expectations
We ask that while your swimmer is swimming you are social distancing as well. We have picnic tables around the pool area where you will be able to see your swimmer during practice and also social distance. We ask that absolutely no parents will be allowed on the deck. This is for the safety for all swimmers and coaches.
This year will look very different from years past. We ask that you understand that the Coaches and I are trying our best to ensure safety while also helping your swimmer have a fun summer swimming experience. Please take some time to discuss with your swimmer how this swim camp will look different from years past. Encourage them to always respect the coaches and help them to understand, we want to keep them safe during this very unusual time.
I am excited to be on this new journey with you and your family. Thank you for your patience and understanding throughout this Wahoos Swim Camp Quarateam season. Can’t wait to see you all soon.
Please email me if you have any questions.
Thank you and GO WAHOOS,
Coach Kayla
