Wahoos! 

I am so PROUD of your swimming tonight! We had so many swimmers qualify, but more importantly we had LESS THAN 5 swimmers get disqualified (DQed)! As a coach this is one of my personal goals, because it shows that not only are we teaching your swimmer how to swim, but we are also teaching them how to swim correctly!

What if my swimmer qualified? 

YAY! This means that they will be swimming in finals on Wednesday and possibly a relay as well (see below for more details about relays)! For ages 6U-10 there will be two heats, so swimmers 1-12 will be competing, swimmers who placed 13 and 14 will be alternates. For ages 11 and up, there will be one heat of swimmers (places 1-6) and places 7 and 8 will be alternates.

What if my swimmer is an alternate? 

 Awesome! That means there times were great! PLEASE MAKE SURE TO STILL BRING YOUR SWIMMER TO THE FINALS ON WEDNESDAY! We never know what will happen to the qualifying swimmers. This might be difficult for your swimmer to understand, but this is where being apart of the team as a whole is important. Please explain to them that they might not be needed to swim, but being at the meet makes them a true team player.

How will I know if my swimmer is in a relay?

 I use the most updated results to build relays and I also look into past times. IF YOUR SWIMMER IS IN A RELAY YOU WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL AND A PHONE CALL FROM A COACH. You will also be asked to respond will a text, call, or email to confirm that your child will be there for the relays on Wednesday. If your child is an alternate they will be notified the same way and be expected to come cheer on their team and swim if needed. 

** I know that it is difficult to explain the alternate situations to our swimmers, but please let them know of their improvements, and that I will always be cheering them on and encouraging them to do their very best. Please also let them know how proud I am of their accomplishments.** TEAMWORK REALLY DOES MAKE THE DREAM WORK!
