Hey Wahoos!

There is a lot of information below so please read the entire email. The address for the meet tomorrow is the West U Rec Center: 4210 Bellaire Blvd, Houston, TX 77025 Volunteers will be meeting inside the pool area along the wall on the north side of the pool. Look for our volunteer coordinators wearing the pink Wahoo shirts. Swimmer check in will be at the ready bench tent so be looking out for our coaches in yellow.

What time is the meet?
5/6 year old kids:

• 4:15 p.m.- Check in
• 4:30 p.m. - Warm up
• 5:00 p.m. - 5/6 year old meet begins (should conclude by 5:45 p.m.)

7 years and older kids:

• 5:30 p.m.- Check-in
• 5:45 p.m. - Warm up
• 6:15 p.m. - National anthem
• 6:30 p.m. - Meet Begins

Where should I park? Swim meet parking is in the gravel lot across the fields from the rec center (near the railroad tracks). Please do not block resident driveways or the fire lanes, as cars will be towed. Please remember that the area in front of the entrance to the Rec Center is a fire lane and there is NO PARKING ANYTIME in the fire lane.

What happens if it is raining? The meet will go on! As you can imagine if there is rain, space will be limited. If there is lightening, the garage doors will be closed. NOTE: Parents will not be allowed on the pool deck once the doors close. There will be limited viewing downstairs in the small viewing room and upstairs at the viewing window. Please move back from the window(s) when your child is not swimming to allow parents with children currently swimming to move to the window(s).   What lanes are we swimming in? West U will swim in lanes 1 – 4. Willow will swim in lanes 5-8.

Food? Food trucks are typically in the parking lot. Due to the current weather forecast, West U may cancel the food trucks. They will make the decision on Sunday afternoon and we will communicate the decision as soon as we know something.

Ribbons If you have volunteered at the West U meet in the past, you are aware that writing ribbons for 8 lanes in a crowded area is a challenge. The volunteer coordinators have made the decision to NOT write times on the ribbons for this meet only. The ribbon writers will try their best to select the correct place ribbon and write the age group and event. You are welcome to write the time on the ribbon once the results are emailed. We hope you understand and support this decision.
